I was watching the news closely. Lucky that you guys do not live inWatertown. I am impressed that you event went to work! Harvard and MITwere closed on Fri.
The suspects were 1.5 or 2nd generation of Russian refugees (children ofimmigrants born abroad (1.5) or in the US (2nd)). The father returned toRussia Chechnya while leaving 2 sons and 2 daughters in the U.S. The FBIis working to uncover any domestic and international organizationsbehind (things are complicated from what the father said).
I hope this event does not swing the national sentiment towardimmigrants while the immigration reform bills are being seriouslyconsidered at the senate and congress.
On a separate issue, I will be at a workshop of Harvard YenchingInstitute, arriving Boston 5/3 and returning 5/5. We may not have timeto meet but I will call you.

我亦密切地注意新闻。好彩的是你们没有住在Watertown(水城)。但我有深刻印象的是，你去上班的路程会在哈佛大学和麻省理工学院(附近)经過，而周五這些(出事的)地方正好关闭。
這犯罪嫌疑人分别为1.5或第二代的俄罗斯难民的孩子，国外出生(跟隨父亲)移民到美国。父亲又返回俄罗斯车臣，而留下2儿和2女儿在美国生活。联邦调查局（FBI）自會追踪发现隱臧在背后任何国内和国际组织的关联（承如其父亲说什么事情是复杂的）。
我可希望不会因为被撩动的民族情绪而指向移民政策，事关这个事件对現在参议院和国会正在考虑移民改革法案的通過可能产生严重影响。
就另外的一项和哈佛燕京研究所合作項目我将在五月三日抵Boston，五月五日要返回，或許時间的匆忙未能抽空和你們相聚，但我會打电話call你。
